Bertie Ahern discusses the Good Friday Agreement with Oisin Feeney, host of The Troubles Podcast

Bertie Ahern believes that a United Ireland is achievable

Bertie Ahern says a United Ireland is possible in the near future, but it would require a lot of preparation to merge the political and infrastructural systems of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland in a recent interview on The Troubles Podcast with Oisin Feeney.

The interview marks 25 years since the signing of the Good Friday Agreement, and Bertie recalls the terse discussions which went on, and how many people taking part in the peace talks flat out refused to speak to each other. With Brexit, the Northern Irish Protocol and the Windsor Agreement causing political instability in Northern Ireland, is there a risk violence escalating again?

The Troubles Podcast, a non-partisan, historical podcast is an Aurra Studios network podcast and has enjoyed substantial growth in listenership since launch, recently achieving number 1 in its category on Apple Podcasts in Ireland during April and regularly charting in the UK and US charts.
