The Troubles wins Two Golds at the Irish Podcast Awards 2023

Congratulations to creator and host Oisin Feeney for an outstanding achievement!

Aurra is very proud to announce that The Troubles has been honoured with two prestigious wins at the Irish Podcast Awards 2023.

Podcast of The Year, the highest award of the night, was awarded to The Troubles, which also won Best History Podcast. The series explores the events of the period, speaking to the people that were both involved in and affected by them.’ PodPod

The Troubles captures the violent sectarian conflict from about 1968 to 1998 in Northern Ireland between the overwhelmingly Protestant unionists (loyalists), who desired the province to remain part of the United Kingdom, and the overwhelmingly Roman Catholic nationalists (republicans), who wanted Northern Ireland to become part of the republic of Ireland.

The Show, part of Aurra’s Current Affairs and History Network, is created and hosted by Oisin Feeney from Dublin. Oisin brings us stories that matter from a complicated period of history in an entirely non-partisan style and focuses solely on the facts and the accounts of the individuals involved. It shines a light on some of the darkest times in Northern Irish history for audiences who may have little or no knowledge of what really took place.

Aurra is excited to be developing a US version of the show with this talented creator.

Double congratulations Oisin!
